Extension
Have the students talk about their pets, either current ones or ones they loved in the past.
Talk about how hard it is to lose a pet - no matter how old you are; if you have lost a pet, share your experiences.
If any student would like to share a pet story, funny or sad, give them a chance to do so. Try to promote an atmosphere
of open sharing - don't put any pressure on anyone.
